Teen Online Driver Education
Eastern Carolina Driving Institute has 25+ years of combined experience teaching teen drivers. We take pride in putting safety first while helping students build confidence behind the wheel.
In North Carolina, all teens ages 14½ through 17 must complete an approved, instructor-led driver education course to begin the licensing process. (Self-paced, independent courses do not meet the state’s driver education requirement.)
Our Teen Driver Education Program Includes 3 Phases
Phase 1: Virtual Classroom (Zoom) + Vision/Medical Screening
Students attend live online instruction and complete the required screening after passing the class exam.
Phase 2: Behind-the-Wheel Driving (6 Hours)
Students complete a minimum of six hours of in-car instruction with a certified driving instructor.
Phase 3: Driver Education Certificate
After successfully completing the program, students receive a Driver Education Certificate, which allows them to apply for a Level One Limited Learner Permit (the first step in North Carolina’s graduated licensing process for drivers under 18).
Teen Transfer
If a teen has completed the 30-hour classroom phase of Driver Education and wishes to transfer to Eastern Carolina Driving Institute for the behind wheel phase, you can email the required documents for the transfer to Dailey@ECarDriving.com.
